A Little League World Series coach is taking some heat over something he did during the final between California and Curacao on Sunday.
With Curacao’s Nasir El-Ossaïs hitting a grand slam to tie the game at 5-5, he took a few seconds to admire his work before running to celebrate with his coach. The move led to the coach getting criticized by fans online, who made the point that a coach touching the runner is an infraction that should erase the point.
The score would remain tied, though.

California ended up getting the last laugh as Louis Lappe smashed a walk-off home run to hand his team a 6-5 lead and bring about what could go down as the most exciting ending to an LLWS final.
He was well aware of its importance as he tossed his bat, threw his arms into the air, and ran around the bases before jumping onto home plate and getting mobbed by his teammates.
Louis, who ended the tournament as the player to hit the most homers, with five, said he’s not sure there’s anything that could make him happier.
“This is a unique feeling that maybe only five or less people experience in their lifetime,” he exclaimed. “I feel great. It’s hard to beat this feeling. I don’t know what would make me feel happier.”
