Juan Soto said that he was open to all 30 teams the moment the New York Yankees lost the World Series. Soto became the top free agent slugger this offseason and he’s expected to sign with a team anytime soon.
Several teams are already believed to have offered Soto a contract. The Blue Jays, Red Sox, Mets, and Yankees are just a few of them. Soto is predicted to lean towards either of the teams from New York. While a number of teams have expressed their interest in the All-Star, some have stayed away.
The Colorado Rockies are one of those teams that stayed away from pursuing Juan Soto. Rockies owner Dick Monfort recently revealed the possible reason for not pursuing the top free agent. Monfort replied to a fan who emailed him asking about the possibility of signing Soto.
“He has said publicly he wants to stay on East Coast,” Monfort wrote in an email.

It’s not the first time the Rockies owner has spoken to fans. Monfort is known to be interactive with Rockies fans. While Monfort stated that Soto is keen on joining an East Coast team, many believe that the Rockies do not have enough in the bank to sign a star slugger like Juan Soto.
Steven Cohen Is Expected To Outbid Opponents As Juan Soto’s Free Agency Saga Continues
The Mets are a top contender for Juan Soto, and several believe that Steve Cohen will outbid his opponents. Recently, news broke out that the Blue Jays will be the highest bidder for Soto. The Yankees, on the other hand, have upgraded their offer for the All-Star.

The competition is tight, and Scott Boras, Soto’s client, is expected to persuade him to pick the team with the highest bid. However, experts suggest that the Mets and Steven Cohen will have the final say in this matter.
Soto is expected to make a decision soon. The Los Angeles Dodgers were also one among several teams looking to pursue the star slugger. However, the Dodgers have already signed Blake Snell and are expected to offer a new contract for Teoscar Hernandez.
