We get it, Dodgers fans, we get it. The veteran outfielder Teoscar Hernandez also wants to re-sign for the Los Angeles Dodgers as bad. His one-year contract, which is $23.5 million, is coming full circle, and he undoubtedly wants to keep contributing to his current side.
However, there is an ‘average annual value and signing bonus’ issue that is preventing the negotiation from breaking out. If recent reports are to be taken into consideration, Hernandez is not considering any deferrals in his next contract.
Things also turned slightly south when the Dominican righty was clicked with Blue Jays’ Vladimir Guerrero Jr. That is enough for the Dodgers front office to worry, as he would not stick around for long if Teo’s preferences were not properly addressed. However, the water is less troubled for the other parties in the deal, be it the Boston Red Sox or the Jays.
There is a high chance that the Dodgers could not turn to Hernandez and offer him a deal. Recently, when the team’s manager, Dave Roberts, was asked about the star outfielder’s future at the team, his answers might have hurt a die-hard Teo fan.
“It would be tough. Obviously, I’m a huge fan of Teo. We have a great relationship. His words, he loved everything about being a Dodger, and I’m always going to be a Teo fan. There’s not a whole lot of guys that can start 157, 158 ballgames and post and then to be that productive,” Roberts said.

Teoscar Hernandez Has Multiple Offers On The Table
If another team goes on to strike a lucrative offer or even a more sensible option, it would still take a lot of mess to be cleared. The recent reports suggest that as many as six teams are in the race to bag the two-time All-Star. The list includes fans’ favorite Dodgers, a potential Blue Jays, Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies and Reds.

The Blue Jays are currently in 2nd, with the Red Sox a distant 3rd.
The Yankees are less of a priority. The Phillies and Reds have also checked in.
So, long story short, the answer to who will sign Hernandez is not a one-liner. The current juncture of the league has teams actively looking to maintain a perfect balance. Teams would be looking at his nine-season-long resume, and that would play as a plus for him. He has a .263 batting average, .320 on-base percentage, and .488 slugging percentage so far.
He also has 928 hits, 192 home runs, and 572 RBIs, consistently hitting between 25 to 32 home runs annually from 2021 to 2024 to his name. Throughout his career, he has earned three Silver Slugger awards and achieved a noteworthy .318 on-base percentage, a .499 slugging percentage, and a .239 isolated power.
