Remember all those jokes and all of that anger that the Houston Astros got for sign stealing? Well, it looks like one of those fan bases that particapted in it will likely need to be quiet for the foreseeable future.
An appeals court ruled that a letter that allegedly shows that MLB hid a Yankees sign-stealing scheme should be unsealed and all hell just might break loose if any of this is true.
The letter allegedly proves that the Yankees did more than simply improperly using a dugout phone in 2017.
U.S. District Court judge Jed S. Rakoff had previously ruled that the letter should be unsealed because much of what was in the letter had already been publicly acknowledged by Major League Baseball.
What that letter may reveal might smack players like Aaron Judge right in the face as he has been outspoken in his criticism of the Astros in the wake of the sign-stealing scandal in 2017, when Houston won the World Series — and beat the Yankees on their way to the title.

Judge criticized Houston and their legacy.
“I just don’t think it holds any value with me,” Judge said two years ago of the 2017 title. “You cheated and you didn’t earn it. That’s how I feel: It wasn’t earned. It wasn’t earned the way of playing the game right and fighting to the end and knowing that we’re competing. We are competitors. The biggest thing about competition is laying it all out on the line, and whoever’s the better player, better person, comes out on top. And to know that another team had an advantage, that’s nothing that you can really guard against. I just don’t feel like that’s earned. That’s not earned.’’
Just last week, the Yankees agreed to a minor league deal with Marwin Gonzalez, who benefited the most from the cheating scandal.
Gonzalez has had two straight subpar seasons and has never again approached the success he had with the Astros in 2017, when he had an OPS of .907, by far the best of his career.
Things are about to get real spicy.
