Much like we seen with George Floyd earlier this year, athletes are trying to do what they can to enact change after yet another unarmed Black man was shot by police.
The Milwaukee Bucks did not take the floor for Wednesday’s playoff game against the Orlando Magic and both teams agreed to boycott the game. The Lakers-Blazers and Rockets-Thunder players followed suit soon after.
That message soon made its way to baseball after the Milwaukee Brewers decided to not take the field for their game against the Reds amid the shooting of Jacob Blake.
Talks of a boycott surfaced after the shooting of Blake, a 29-year-old Black man and father of three. Video surfaced late Sunday of police in Kenosha, Wisconsin shooting Blake in the back seven times, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down, according to his father.
