Much as we expected when the announcement of the first minor league player in the Yankees organization testing positive for the coronavirus, another has had the same thing happen to him.
On Tuesday, it was reported that a second and unknown player has tested for the coronavirus just days after the first case was announced.
Yankees minor-league pitcher Denny Larrondo has since been identified as the first player who contracted the virus.
The 17-year-old right-hander from Cuba was signed by the Yankees in 2018 and pitched 12 games for the Yankees’ Gulf Coast League team last season.
The players under quarantine were informed about it.

The minor league complex was cleaned over the weekend and is shut down until March 25.
“We’ve had no other corona[virus] testing necessary at this time,” general manager Brian Cashman said Sunday. “Just like anybody, is that likely to stick? I would say no, it’s not likely to stick.”
