Anytime an athlete goes down with contact, it is never a good outcome.
That just might be the case after Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Mike Soroka suffered what looked like a scary leg injury in the third inning against the New York Mets.
In his attempt to cover first base, Mike Soroka tried to hop off the mound, but would immediately collapsed to the ground in considerable pain.
Trainers came out to attend to the Braves’ hurler, and eventually helped Soroka off the field.
Soroka finished 13-4 with a 2.68 ERA in 29 starts for the Braves last season.
His birthday is tomorrow as he turns 23-years-old.
