The Atlanta Braves are reeling with the terrible news they received this week involving All-Star pitcher Mike Soroka. He has unfortunately suffered yet another Achilles injury.
Soroka had his 2020 season cut short due to a torn Achilles. The same will be said for 2021 after he felt a pop in his surgically-repaired Achilles while simply walking to the clubhouse at Truist Park. HE WAS WALKING!
Days later, an MRI confirmed the worst that showed he had complete re-tear of the tendon. The 23-year-old will have to undergo surgery and a long rehab process.
Soroka has not pitched since initially suffering the injury Aug. 3 last season against the New York Mets.
In 37 starts, Soroka has a 2.86 ERA and 15-6 record. He was an All-Star and the National League Rookie of the Year runner-up in 2019.
