Social distancing has been a key term in recent weeks as elected officials try to get the public to stay as far as away from other people to help slow the spread of the coronavirus that has gotten thousands of people infected and hundreds losing their life as a result.
The Boston Red Sox decided to help get that message out with the unveiling of an altered logo.
On Tuesday, the team’s official Twitter account changed its profile picture showing that the red socks were sitting apart.
“#NewSociallyDistantProfilePic,” the Red Sox wrote.
The concept asks people to stay indoors as much as they can and keep at least six feet apart from other people to protect themselves from the highly contagious coronavirus.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Massachusetts has 1,159 coronavirus cases, and 11 deaths from the virus, according to the New York Times.
