Here’s one mistake that I’m surprised doesn’t happen a lot more often during Cleveland Guardians broadcasts.
During Game 2 of the ALDS between the Guardians and the New York Yankees, Cleveland pitcher Shane Bieber was kicking off the bottom of the sixth inning with his 84th pitch of the ball game when Bob Costas accidentally got the two-time all-star mixed up with Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber.
It didn’t take Costas long to realize his little mistake, as he questioned whether he really just mixed up the two stars from their respective fields.
Costas has been tasked with calling the entire Yankees-Guardians ALDS series as part of his duties with TBS. He’s been joined inside the press box by analyst Ron Darling and field-side reporter Lauren Shehadi. And he’s set to be a part of the network’s studio coverage alongside Pedro Martinez, Jimmy Rollins and Curtis Granderson, for the American League Championship Series.
