Jordan Cicchelli, a Toronto Blue Jays fan and content producer at TSN’s BarDown page, attempted to eat a hot dog for every home run the team hit during Tuesday’s home opener against the Detroit Tigers.
Poutine is a signature Canadian dish which consists of mixing gravy and cheese turds with fries. Before the start of the 2023 season, the Rogers Centre (the Jays’ home venue) revealed a new ballpark snack called the poutine hot dog.
On Tuesday afternoon, Cicchelli proposed to eat one poutine hot dog for every Toronto home run against Detroit. Cicchelli is a vegetarian, so she decided to experiment with a veggie dog consisting of poutine.
Cicchelli shared a video on her Twitter page of her attempting to eat a veggie poutine dog. During the video, Toronto star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. nearly recorded another home run, but he flew out just shy of the wall.

Toronto wound up hitting five homers in the 9-3 victory, the most ever for the franchise in a home opener.
Jordan Cicchelli, wasn’t impressed with the Jays.
Speaking to CTV News, Cicchelli stated that she decided to stick with the one veggie poutine dog. As an alternative, she committed a kind charitable act by donating $100 to the Jays Care Foundation.
The Blue Jays’ 2023 home opener had more anticipation and hype than previous years, as the Rogers Centre just underwent a $300 million renovation project. The Jays began the season on a 10-game road trip, but the players sure made the wait worthwhile on Tuesday.
