Another star slugger the Yankees are predicted to pursue is Pete Alonso. The Yanks could seal a deal with Alonso if they failed to land Anthony Santander. The Mets have taken two players from the Yanks and have not been interested in Alonso since signing Juan Soto.
However, Alonso has a growing market and several teams behind him. The Yankees would consider Alonso their next first baseman. Additionally, they have other options, such as Christian Walker. The Yankees can use a switch hitter like Santander.
