It’s a new year for baseball, and Anthony Santander has yet to find a home. The Orioles star proved to be a top slugger after a career-high 44 home runs. Santander hit more home runs than Juan Soto in 2024, but he’s yet to ink a contract.
The latest buzz has brought good news to the slugger, and he might remain where he was in the AL East division. The Orioles were linked to Santander as they planned on bringing him back. However, nothing has been working in favor of both. Baltimore was unable to give him an offer that he could not refuse.
It turns out that the O’s might lose Santander to their AL East rival. Surprisingly, the Toronto Blue Jays have come into the picture with an offer for the switch hitter. The Blue Jays have reportedly offered the star slugger $82,000,000.
Baltimore seems uninterested in bringing back Anthony Santander. The franchise was keen on adding Tyler O’Neil with a three-year $49 million deal. The only reason they went behind O’Neil is probably because of the money. When it comes to numbers, Santander had a better season than O’Neil last year.
Blue Jays Set To Offer Anthony Santander A Four-Year Contract
According to MLB insider Hector Gomez, Santander is predicted to receive a four-year contract from the Blue Jays. Gomez also says that the Blue Jays have emerged as the frontrunners amid tough competition.
Four other teams are behind Santander, including the Tigers, Angels, Mets, and Astros. Now, the Blue Jays have made the competition a little more complicated. The Blue Jays need to add some top sluggers to their team, especially since Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette will be heading to free agency.

Toronto has not made any significant moves this offseason. Yet, they were one of the first teams to meet Juan Soto. It’s possible for Toronto so sign Anthony Santander if they give him what he wants. Santander has played for the Orioles his entire career and he might be on his way to their AL East rival from the north.
On the other hand, the Atlanta Braves are also predicted to sign a future free-agent slugger in a multiplayer deal with the Blue Jays.
