The Los Angeles Angels have added a few pieces to their team this offseason. After an unsuccessful 2024 season, the Angles hope to improve their gameplay. After Mike Trout missed most of the season, things went worse for the team.
The pressure will mount on Ron Washington to lead his team to the playoffs next year. To start things off, they managed to add a few players to the lineup. Jorge Soler, Travis d’Arnaud, Kyle Hendricks, and Kevin Newman will wear Angels jerseys in 2025. However, fans are unimpressed with the team spending nearly $100 million on these five players.
MLB insider Jon Heyman shared a post on social media saying that the team is back in the ballgame. Fans lashed out as they were unhappy with the same.
Angels are back in the ballgame. That’s about $100M spent (Soler, d’Arnaud, Hendricks, Newman too) for early MLB spending lead. https://t.co/Tno7qwTUlu

Here’s a look at some of the fan reactions on X.
“Imagine spending $100M and getting Soler, TDA, Hendricks, Newman and Kikuchi. Feels like one of the worst ways to spend $100M,” one fan wrote.

All that for the A’s to still have a better record

Yep. These are the moves that will propel them to 4th place.

And they will once again finish 3rd in the West and deny a much needed rebuild. Trout will play 60 games again and people will wonder what happened.

John, those aren’t exactly world beaters players, more like castoffs.

Los Angeles Angels And Yusei Kikuchi Agree To A $63 Million 3-Year Contract
Yusei Kikuchi was the latest addition to the Angels squad. The Angels need starting pitchers to bolster their rotation. Kyle Hendricks and Kikuchi are expected to contribute to the team in the upcoming season.
Kikuchi agreed to a $63 million 3-year contract with the Angels. The Japanese pitcher will carry a huge responsibility on his shoulders for the upcoming season. The franchise can use a left-handed pitcher at this moment.
As for Kikuchi, he is at the tail end of his career, and his stint with the Houston Astros was not too bad. The MLB offseason is in full swing as trade rumors continue to swirl with top players. Juan Soto has become a favorite to sign with the New York Mets.
