Aside from politicians, Angel Hernandez might be that one person in the entire country who can consistently be terrible at his job and be able to keep it year after year.
Hernandez is the worst umpire in Major League Baseball. He’s held that title for years and is seemingly doing everything in his power to make sure that nobody can ever take it from him.
Hernández has been a longtime target of criticism from players and fans alike for missed or bad calls. The fact that we are writing about him right now means he has done something incredibly terrible once again. This time around, he made a very questionable strike call during Sunday’s game between the Braves and Giants.
What was clearly a thrown ball outside the strike zone that should’ve been called a ball. Hernandez called a strike.

You would think a bad call should be embarrassing, but Hernandez is used to this and will continue to do so as long as Major League Baseball allows it to happen.
As for the game, the San Francisco Giants would go on to pick up a huge 4-3 victory over the only team that has 80 wins so far this season.
The Braves are running away with the NL East crown while the Giants are trying to keep pace in the Wild Card standings.
