A bunch of players on the Houston Astros will be plenty sore if opposing pitchers actually start throwing and hitting them with baseballs all season long.
Alex Bregman considers himself an old school player who appreciates some of baseball’s unwritten rules, which is why social media found a little nugget of when he was a guest on the “Pardon My Take” podcast last October, and that topic came up.
The Houston Astros superstar stated his favorite unwritten rule is when a guy gets hit with a pitch for stupid stuff.
“I kind of like the way the game has always policed itself,” Bregman said. “If you do some stupid stuff on the field, either you or one of your teammates is gonna get hit for how you’re acting. I kind of like that. I kind of like those rules.”
Well, the Astros pissed off a bunch of people with their cheating scandal, and to make matters worse, none of the players got punished. I guess we can expect a lot of ‘stupid stuff’ to happen in 2020.
