Alex Bregman was predicted to sign with a team long before Christmas. Yet, the two-time World Series champion is still a free agent. Bregman wanted to remain with the Houston Astros, but they were unable to match his requirements.
The slugger wanted close to $200 million, but the Astros were not ready to go all in. Bregman’s chances of signing with the Astros have declined drastically. Bregman is a star slugger, and many teams are ready to strike a deal.
The New York Yankees were favorites, but they made two moves by signing Cody Bellinger and veteran slugger Paul Goldschmidt. The Yanks are still keeping a tab on Bregman, but another AL East team has emerged as a favorite.
“The two teams I would look at are the Red Sox and the Tigers,” Feinsand said via Fansided.
Bregman had several teams after him, but the Red Sox are a new twist to the story. It’s possible for Boston to sign Bregman. After all, they were planning on pursuing Juan Soto.

Alex Bregman to the Astros seems to be long gone despite Dana Brown’s words of bringing him back. Bregman would have remained on the team if he had got what he wanted. The Astros have not shown any interest, even with the daily competition for Bregman.

Astros fans are unhappy with their progress on Bregman. Moreover, the Astros have traded Kyle Tucker to the Chicago Cubs. Houston plans to revamp its team by doing the best it can. Retaining Bregman would be great, but the Astros are not ready to pay $200 million. Furthermore, the Astros could use that money to get some extra pitching arms.
After Tucker’s departure, Alex Bregman might not be too interested to get back to the Space City. Bregman is believed to join a team soon, and the Yankees and the Detroit Tigers are still favorites. With the Red Sox in the mix, Bregman might be on his way to Boston before Spring Training.
