For a long time, Alex Bregman has been a rival of the New York Yankees. The Houston Astros have traded Kyle Tucker to the Chicago Cubs but have not progressed on Bregman. The Astros seem to be slipping out on Bregman to their AL East rival.
The Yankees have the perfect opportunity to sign the star slugger and build their offense. The Yanks have played their cards well after missing out on Juan Soto. Adding Soto would have been incredible, but they might have stopped at that alone. Now that they have enough cash, they could easily secure Bregman.
The Bronx Bombers have already bolstered their pitching end and are now turning to their offense. The team has already taken a major step forward by discussing Alex Bregman’s availability with his agent, Scott Boras.
Yankees GM Brian Cashman is keen on building a team that will win the World Series. Cashman said he would make use of every opportunity, and that also involves Bregman.
“We’ll vet every opportunity out there. He’s been a thorn in our side for years, along with other people’s sides. He’s now into free agency. I’m sure he’s got a boatload of choices. Players like him make a lot of money. I have had a conversation or two with Scott Boras. I certainly respect the player and his ability and how much winning he’s been a part of,” Cashman said via the Athletic.
Yankees Will Need To Offer Alex Bregman Close To $200 Million
The Astros have offered $156 million for the next six years, but Bregman is seeking $200 million. Bregman is 30-years-old, and he has the numbers to back him. Signing Bregman will pave the way for the Yanks to the World Series.

Bregman’s postseason performance is excellent, but the Yankees need to offer the slugger what he wants. Scott Boras is expected to hike the price for his agent. Some believe that Alex Bregman will seek a long-term contract worth $350 million.
The Yankees might be able to close in with $200 million or something less. Boras will play a crucial role in the negotiation, and it also depends on the other offers that Bregman receives. The Yanks have a backup plan, as they are also linked to Anthony Santander and Cody Bellinger.
