Aaron Judge has MLB fans puzzled over the way he’s been wearing his belt lately.
The New York Yankees slugger has been one of the more popular players in the MLB for some time. He is the reigning AL MVP after all – but he’s been trending for mysterious reasons these days.
Judge wears a uniform-numbered belt and the No. 99 jersey. But he’s been wearing the belt upside-down all season, which has seen it flip from 99 to 66. Fans are understandably confused by this and speculation has been rife as they wonder whether Judge is not aware that the belt is upside down or whether there is a reason for his wearing it that way.
Some seem to think he’s targeting 66 home runs this season.

The Yankees captain hit 62 home runs and broke the record for the most homers by any Yankee player in a single season last term. He now sits above Roger Maris, who had previously held the record of 61, dating back to 1961.
This will continue to be a mystery until or unless Judge explains the reason he’s been wearing his belt upside down. But that he doesn’t know it’s been upside-down the whole time is simply not realistic.
Meanwhile, the slugger has started the campaign with a batting average of .286, having hit five homers so far. Whether he repeats or tops last season’s feat remains to be seen as there’s still a lot of baseball to be played between now and the end of the regular season.
