Since Judge achieved several accolades, he was called the “King of New York.” Other athletes, including Jalen Brunson, were named the same. Recently, WFAN’s Tommy Lugauer said that Judge is not the “King of New York” due to his struggling performance and that Francisco Lindor should own the title.
“Aaron Judge is out of the conversation. He is the modern-day Nick Swisher. He only gets hits when he faces crappy pitchers in July. When the competition stiffens up in October, he goes quietly into the night. He only made the World Series last year because Juan Soto was on the team. Aaron Judge was like the rest of us, watching the postseason as he was striking out, looking at every other at bat. Francisco Lindor was getting big hit after big hit,” Lugauer said via Audacity.

Lugauer further stated that Lindor is the uncrowned NL MVP, and Judge was out of the conversation about being the”King of New York.”
