The Houston Astros may very well set a record for most hit batters during the 2020 MLB season as a sizable portion of players are understandably upset that members of the 2017 Houston Astros’ championship roster avoided punishment for their part in a cheating scheme.
If the first few spring training games are any indication, the players are in for a long year.
In just three spring training games in 2020, a total of six Astros batters have been hit by pitches.

To be fair, the Astros aren’t the only ones getting beaned right now in spring games. They are actually tied for first with the Reds and Tigers.
MLB commissioner Rob Manfred has already sent out a warning to teams throwing at batters, but it will only make things worse if opposing pitchers find themselves being disciplined for hitting Astros players and the players themselves had nothing done to them by the league during the cheating scandal.
It’s going to be a long year.
