Wyndham Clark, a relatively unknown golfer, is your new U.S. Open champion after an exciting weekend of golf.
One of Rickie Fowler, Rory McIlroy, and Scottie Scheffler were expected to leave the Los Angeles Country Club as the tournament’s winner given that they were at the top of the leaderboard. However, Clark outlasted McIlroy to mark a second professional victory and a first major tournament, netting himself a whopping $3.6 million.
Clark’s only PGA Tour victory came last month when he won the Wells Fargo Championship. He had not finished higher than T75 in six majors since 2020 and didn’t even make the cut in four of them.
The 29-year-old was seen kissing a blonde woman on the 18th green right after winning the Open who has since been identified as Julia Kemmling.

Wyndham and Julia are now thought to be dating, though the former has kept his personal life very private. The latter is a former college golfer who is now a golf coach.
She was announced as the Quinnipiac assistant coach in 2019, having helped the Bobcats to consecutive MAAC Championships in 2017 and 2017. Julia finished fourth stroke or better in stroke average for the team from 2015 to 2017.
She shot a season-best 75 (+3) in the second round of the NCAA Athens Regional, which is still the best round in Quinnipiac history, while her 42 birdies in 2015/16 were the second most of any rookie in school history and the second most by any of the program’s athletes in a single season.
