The home of the Masters, Augusta National’s Magnolia Lane, was among areas that sustained damage as Hurricane Helen swept across the southeastern U.S. over the weekend.
The weather pattern caused significant loss as it battered the region after making landfall.
The iconic Magnolia Lane was hit pretty hard, with the Masters’ official X/Twitter account, which is usually dormant until the buildup to the competition in April, breaking its silence.
“Our Augusta community has suffered catastrophic and historic impact from Hurricane Helene,” Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley said in a statement.
“We currently are assessing the effects at Augusta National Golf Club. In the meantime, our focus and efforts are foremost with our staff, neighbors and business owners in Augusta. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as well as everyone throughout Georgia and the Southeast who have been affected.”

The extent of the damage remains unknown. However, aerial footage taken from a drone gives us a glimpse.

Magnolia Lane Didn’t Get As Hard As Washington Road
Additional footage shows what the hurricane did to the nearby Washington Road, which runs along the golf course, and it’s a lot worse than what we can see from Magnolia Lane.
Augusta National stays closed from May to October to keep the course fresh, but there appears to be plenty of work to be done after Hurricane Helene.
Still, if any golf club can bounce back from such a hit, it would have to be Augusta.
There’s plenty of time before the next Masters comes around; the course should be ready to welcome the best competitors in the world by next April.
