Tiger Woods probably feels cramped enough during his appearances on the PGA Tour these days. The last thing he needs is the camera operators getting all up in his grill as well.
That’s what happened right off the bat during the opening round of the PGA Championship at Southern Hills this morning. After hitting his opening tee shot right down the pipe, Tiger made his way down the fairway. And he was being closely followed by one of ESPN’s cameraman…
Perhaps a little too closely, as Tiger had to ask the person behind the camera to back off three times before the broadcast cut away.
Tiger could clearly be heard saying, “Mind giving me some breathing space, please?” When his request was ignored, he asked a few more times, even motioning for the cameraman to back off with his hand.
This was just the start of what would turn out to be a rather frustrating day for Woods. After completing the back nine at even-par, he blew up on the front, finishing with a 4-over score of 74.
