Grayson Murray probably thought no one would notice his subtle attempt, but this is the internet we’re talking about!
The 28-year-old PGA Tour golfer was having a rough go at it at last weekend’s U.S. Open—like many in the field at The Country Club were. But unlike the others, Murray was losing a few clubs in the process.
At one point, Murray was seen tossing his putter in the fescue after a missed putt. And later on, he snapped an iron in half after missing the green and landing in the deep rough with his approach shot.
Matthew Fitzpatrick won the tournament by one stroke over Scottie Scheffler and Will Zalatoris, but it was Murray who was the focus of many conversations afterwards, as some felt he took things a little too far.
But not Paige Spiranac. The female golfer of Instagram fame took to social media to defend Murray’s actions.

Apparently feeling confident in himself, Murray decided to respond to Paige’s video by asking her to show everyone her “club throw.”
The comment seemed innocent enough, if we’re being honest… But Twitter didn’t see it that way.
Instead, what they saw was a horny man trying to make a move on Maxim’s “World’s Sexiest Woman.” And they immediately called him out for it—whether he deserved it or not.
