The Masters is finally here, but one prominent player might find himself not playing at all.
Scottie Scheffler is a soon-to-be father, and that could come at the expense of playing at the Masters this weekend due to his pregnant wife potentially going into labor during the tournament.
According to Todd Lewis of the Golf Channel, if Scottie Scheffler’s wife goes into labor anytime between Thursday and Sunday, he would immediately pull out of the major and do everything he can to get to the hospital.
Scottie Scheffler is not the only one in this predicament, as Sam Burns is in the same boat as well.
Scheffler, the 2022 Masters champion, is seeking his second major victory, but his wife comes first when it comes to the couple expecting their first child at the end of the month.

Burns, who is in search of his first major win, is also waiting for his wife to welcome their bundle of joy in the coming days.
Scheffler, the current world No. 1, is a favorite to win the first major of the 2024 season. Just a few weeks ago, he was victorious at the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in March.
The Masters will start on Thursday, April 11th, before ending on Sunday, April 14th.
Scottie Scheffler Hoping To Bring Home His Second Masters Victory
Two years after winning the Masters, Scottie Scheffler is back at Augusta National this week, still the world’s No. 1 player and has high hopes that he can bring another Green Jacket back home.
The 27-year-old is on fire as he has been in the top 10 in seven of eight starts this year, including his back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship.
All of his victories and top-10 finishes could come to an end should he have to withdraw from the Masters to be with his pregnant wife.
