Grayson Murray made a gut-wrenching admission to his father days in the days leading up to his death.
Murray, who passed away at the age of 30 on May 25, is believed to have taken his own life. The golfer was playing in a PGA tournament that weekend but withdrew because of illness.
He was later pronounced dead.

“We were devastated to learn — and are heartbroken to share — that PGA Tour player Grayson Murray passed away this morning,” PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan announced. “I am at a loss for words. The PGA Tour is a family, and when you lose a member of your family, you are never the same.
“We mourn Grayson and pray for comfort for his loved ones. I reached out to Grayson’s parents to offer our deepest condolences, and during that conversation, they asked that we continue with tournament play. They were adamant that Grayson would want us to do so.”
Murray’s parents revealed he took his own life shortly thereafter.

Grayson Murray’s Father Revealed Heartbreaking Conversation He Had With His Son Before His Death
Grayson’s father, Eric, has since revealed that the golfer, who struggled with his mental health, told him he didn’t want to continue living during a conversation they had days before his passing.
According to a piece published by Golf Digest, Murray told his father, “I don’t want to be here anymore,” while they were speaking at home in early May.

“Was Grayson loved? The answer is yes,” his parents said in a statement after he died. “By us, his brother Cameron, his sister Erica, all of his extended family, by his friends, by his fellow players and — it seems — by many of you who are reading this. He was loved and he will be missed.”
Murray was a winner of two PGA Tour events, triumphing at the 2017 Barbasol Championship and the 2024 Sony Open in Hawaii.
