A Florida golfer was arrested amid suspicion of murder after he reportedly beat another man with multiple golf clubs and then drowned him.
An incident report obtained by TMZ Sports notes that the incident occurred this Monday and unfolded on the first hole at the Sandhill Crane Golf Club.
Officers cited an eyewitness who told them they saw Junior Boucher having an argument with Brian Hiltebritel before hearing the latter scream, “He’s trying to kill me.”
Boucher, 36, is accused of repeatedly hitting the 65-year-old Hiltebritel with various clubs and then choking him once they got into a pond. He is said to have hit his victim in the head several times while he lay motionless in the water.

Police added that Boucher got out of the water, removed his clothes, and walked away. He tried to evade capture after the lawmen arrived, but they used an electronic control weapon to subdue him before taking him into custody.

Hiltebrital was pronounced dead on the scene despite efforts to save his life.
Junior Boucher made his first appearance in court on Tuesday following a first-degree murder charge. He will return to court in December, with a judge denying his bond.
There’s no information on the relationship between the two men, if any. But the authorities are expected to speak on the matter this week.
