U.S. President Joe Biden delivered a scathing response to Donald Trump’s challenge for an 18-hole golf match.
During their presidential debate two weeks ago, Joe Biden and Donald Trump got into a heated exchange about golf. Biden said that he lowered his golf handicap to a six during his tenure as Vice President, and he told Trump he’d happily square off on the greens if the Republican nominee would carry his own bag.
Trump responded by telling Biden that his six handicap is a “lie”, adding, “I’ve seen you swing. I know your swing.”
During his rally in Doral, Florida, last night, Trump challenged Biden to another debate and “an 18-hole golf match.” Trump promised to give Biden 10 strokes for their match and that if he emerged victorious, he would donate $1 million to a charity of the president’s choice.
Joe Biden’s team put out a blistering statement on Donald Trump’s golf challenge, stating that the president “doesn’t have time for Donald Trump’s weird antics.” The statement ended with another shot at the Republican nominee:
“Donald Trump is a liar, a convict, and a fraud only out for himself – par for the course.”

As entertaining as a golf match would be between the two nominees, it’s unfortunately not on the table for Biden’s team. It’s unlikely, but perhaps they’ll eventually agree to it after the 2024 election in November.
If Trump wins the 2024 presidential election, he’ll become just the second U.S. president to serve two non-consecutive terms. Grover Cleveland served in office from 1885-1889 and 1893-1897. Benjamin Harrison was president in between Cleveland’s two terms.
Calls Mount For Joe Biden To Step Down
Biden’s age (81) and performance at the first presidential debate has led to widespread calls for him to step down, and for the Democratic Party to nominate somebody else.
Biden hasn’t indicated that he’s considering stepping away from the race. Trump is currently leading most of the polls, so if Biden continues to slip, the Democrats could very well try to convince him to step down.
The 2024 election will be held on Nov. 5.
