On Sunday, Hideki Matsuyama became the first Japanese golfer to win the Masters tournament.
One of the best traditions is that the person who wins gets to pick a dinner menu ahead of the Players Championship.
Paige Spiranac’s tweet about the dinner was seemingly harmless. She said, “The menu for the champions dinner is going to be absolute fire next year.”
However, she received a crazy amount of backlash for it, so she fired right back.
“Honestly it’s disgusting how everything gets twisted. I made a comment about how amazing the menu will be next year because I love Japanese food. Most winners create menus to honor where they are from and I would expect Hideki to do the same.”
