Paige Spiranac spoke out about body shaming comments she received on her recent Instagram post. The former professional golfer and social media influencer took to her Instagram Stories earlier this week to share that she received negative comments about her body on one of her golf swing videos.
The athlete wrote, “Honestly, the amount of men calling me ‘fat’ on this post is next level lol. I’ve had to delete so many comments which I almost never do.”
Not everybody feels sorry for her.
Fox News host Lisa Boothe stated Spiranac should live with the comments because she “objectifies” her own body. She did not feel sorry for her because she uses her body to sell and make her money.
Paige saw those comments and fired right back.
“I clearly stated a big part of my brand is my body and that comes with a territory,” she said. “I do believe people can and should state their opinions without being cruel for no reason. Exactly like you did. You explained yourself without fat shaming or slut shaming me and I respect that.”

Spiranac later thanked her followers for the support and for trusting her enough to share their own body insecurities.
“We are all more alike than different,” she said Thursday on her Instagram Story. “I’m excited to share more of my fitness and health journey to hopefully help you as well! We are in this together.”
