The Louisville Metro Police Department has released footage of Scottie Scheffler getting arrested last Friday following the shocking events surrounding the PGA Championship.
The world’s No. 1 golfer was treated to an unthinkable ordeal, having been taken into police custody while attempting to enter the tournament venue.
Scheffler had apparently tried to drive around the scene of a fatal accident but was approached, stopped, and eventually apprehended by Detective Bryan Gillis.
Gillis was coincidentally not wearing his body camera at the time but is said to have presented injuries for which he was taken to hospital, while his $80 trousers were “damaged beyond repair.”
ESPN’s Jeff Darlington’s video was the only bit of footage everyone had to go on, but the LMPD has released surveillance footage captured by a camera on a pole, plus dashcam footage from inside a police car.

Scottie Scheffler’s Arresting Officer May Have Stretched The Truth A Bit
While a bus obscures most of the activity, it doesn’t appear that Gillis hung onto the vehicle or was dragged, as he claimed. But the clip does show him pulling Scottie Scheffler out of his car.
Of course, bodycam footage would have offered way more insight into what transpired on the morning, but there’s none of that.
The LMPD chief addressed reporters in a press conference this Thursday, revealing that the detective was being disciplined internally because the absence of a bodycam violated protocol.
Scottie’s charges aren’t being dropped, however, at least not yet.
