If you’re a fan of golf and/or elite athletes, this may very well be the best video you watch all day.
We saw Tiger Woods limping around Los Angeles last week, causing many to wonder if he’ll ever recover enough to be able to hit the links again. Well, it looks like the five-time Masters champion is a lot closer than any of us had ever imagined.
Tiger released footage today of himself hitting some wedge shots on the range. Sure, he’s not exactly going all out and driving a ball 300-plus yards down a fairway. But just to see him swinging a club again, less than a year after his single-car accident, is definitely a sight for any golf fan with sore eyes.
This doesn’t mean Tiger is anywhere close to returning to the PGA Tour. That moment could still be a year or two away…if it even comes at all. But after all he’s been through — having a rod and screws inserted to repair his tibia, foot and ankle following February’s accident — I think we can all agree that this is great progress for one of the greatest golfers of all time.
After watching him walk outside his hotel in Los Angeles last week, this video of him swinging a club was probably the last thing I expected to see today.
