The 2023 Masters golf tournament kicked off this Thursday and still has a few days to go, yet we’ve probably already seen the worst putt of the lot and maybe the worst of the year.
Australian Min Woo Lee is responsible for said attempt, having mustered a lot less power than was required for a 25-foot putt from just outside the green on his second stroke of the par-four third hole.
While an unlikely position for a bogey, it’s what the Australian had to settle for in front of a shocked crowd as he laughed in frustration.
The clip, shown below, has gone viral, with some fans expressing pity while others have expectedly laughed at poor Lee.

Lee finished 14th in his Masters debut in 2022 and had been in good-enough form in the build-up to the Augusta National event.
He has been urged to seize the moment in this year’s iteration by Adam Scott, the tournament’s first green jacket-winning Australian.
Lee has lived in the shadow of his sister Minjee, who also plays golf, but has hopes of making a name for himself. He played in the final group at The Players Championship on Sunday, suffering a triple bogey that helped defending Masters champion Scottie Scheffler snatch the victory.
Safe to say, he hasn’t gotten off to a great start in Augusta but will have enough opportunities to pick things up.
