Mardy Fish is still striking the ball with extreme brilliance! But the only difference is that it’s not a tennis racket this time. Instead, it’s a golf club. The former tennis player is currently playing in the ACC Championship golf tournament at Lake Tahoe. He shot 71 and 65 in the first two rounds to top the leaderboard. Moreover, American Ice Hockey player Joe Pavelski and NFL player Adam Thielen are behind him in the second and third ranks, respectively.
Notably, Fish previously won the tournament against Kyle Williams in 2020. In fact, he entered the 35th edition of the celebrity tournament after being runner-up in the 2023 edition. He lost to NBA star Steph Curry by merely two points.
The ACC Championship has a different scoring system. Unlike other official golf tournaments, it gives points for pars, birdies, eagles, and bogeys. Mardy Fish earned 23 points in the first round and gathered 34 points in the second round.
Who Else Other Than Mardy Fish Is Playing In ACC Championship?
When Edgewood Tahoe Resort hosts the American Century Championship every year, several stars from multiple fields mark their presence. This year is no different. Although this year’s field is missing its defending champion and NBA star, Steph Curry, several popular names remain!
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, former American baseball player John Smoltz, NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley, legendary female golfer Annika Sorenstam, and many others are swinging their golf clubs this weekend at the ACC Championship golf tournament.
