Known for his voice on Sirius XM PGA Tour Radio, Mark Carnevale is no more. Former PGA Tour player-turned-broadcaster passed away at the age of 64 on Monday, July 22, 2024. Carnevale’s news of passing is a tough pill to swallow, as the former PGA Tour winner recently covered the Genesis Scottish Open and was also slated to be at this 3M Open.
The PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan shared his condolences via a statement on PGATOUR.com. His statement read,
“Mark was a beloved part of the TOUR family for a long time. He was a member of that elite club, a PGA Tour winner, and then he held numerous roles within the industry, most recently as a significant voice in PGA Tour Radio’s coverage.”
While the entire golfing fraternity is in shock, the cause of his death is yet unknown. Moreover, Carnevale is survived by his four siblings and wife, Liz Boudreaux.
A Look At Mark Carnevale’s Life And Career on PGA Tour
Always known for his bold voice on the PGA Tour, Carnevale was born on May 21, 1960. His father, Ben Carnevale, was the head coach of the United States Naval Academy’s basketball team. Despite having roots in team sports in the family, Mark decided to pursue a career in golf.
After a great collegiate golf career at James Madison University, Carnevale decided to take his career to the professional level in 1983. However, his dream of being a PGA Tour member didn’t come true until 1992, when he won the Chattanooga Classic and became a permanent member of the Tour.
Although he could win only one tournament on the PGA Tour, Carnevale made a name for himself in the broadcasting industry. He worked with the Golf Channel as an analyst and with the PGA Tour as an announcer and commentator.

Mark Carnevale’s passing is another huge loss to the PGA Tour after losing Grayson Murray in May 2024.
