The PGA Tour and LIV Golf have shockingly agreed to a merger that should significantly change the landscape of golf.
Following about a year of a bitter legal battle flanked by attacks from both sides, the aforementioned entities have announced that they, along with DP World Tour, are rolling into one.
While no one would have imagined such a thing, former United States President Donald Trump saw it coming nearly a year ago.
“All of those golfers that remain ‘loyal’ to the very disloyal PGA..will pay a big price when the inevitable merger with LIV comes, and you get nothing but a big ‘thank you’ from PGA officials,” the former POTUS said back in July.
The news sent shockwaves through the sports world, with even golfers and their agents blindsided. But Trump saw the signs and, given that his courses have been used by both tours, he knew what he was talking about and is being praised now that it’s all come to a head.

LIV has been on the end of rife criticism due to its Saudi backing and has been referred to as an attempt to “sportswash” the country’s human rights infringements and present the Middle East as a respectable region.
On the other hand, it has handed golfers the opportunity to make crazy money they would not have made otherwise, with several of the top names defecting from the PGA Tour to snatch a grand payday.
Now, it remains to be seen how defectors could return to the tour, with the process said to be “complicated.”
