LIV golfer and former PGA Bryson DeChambeau is in the spotlight again, but not exactly because of his performance on the greens.
DeChambeau, who left the PGA tour earlier this year, participated at the LIV Golf Invitational Chicago at the Rich Harvest Farms. Though DeChambeau finished with a solid score of -6, the actual production isn’t the most talked-about thing right regarding his time at the Rich Harvest Farms.
Rather, it’s this minor accident in which DeChambeau got inadvertently clotheslined by the gallery rope. DeChambeau walked right into the rope when attempting to duck underneath it, and the pain caused him to immediately grab his forehead.
Fortunately, DeChambeau was able to play out the remainder of his round. Australian Cameron Smith, the winner of the 2022 Open Championship, won the event by shooting -13. Peter Uihlein and Dustin Johnson finished in a tie for second at -10.

Renowned for his especially powerful drives, “The Scientist” reportedly landed a deal with LIV Golf worth more than $100 million. LIV Golf has also recruited other PGA majors winners in the aforementioned Smith, Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Charl Schwartzel and Brooks Koepka.
The inaugural LIV Golf season started in June, with Schwartzel’s team winning the LIV Golf Invitational London. There are three more events on the schedule for 2022: LIV Golf Invitational Bangkok (Oct. 9), LIV Golf Invitational Jeddah (Oct. 16) and LIV Golf Invitational Miami (Oct. 30).
Two-time Majors winner Greg Norman serves as the CEO of LIV Golf. The tour tried to sign Tiger Woods to a hefty contract, but the greatest golfer of his generation decided to stick with the PGA.
