There was a time when Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau did not like each other. Things have certainly changed.
Over the weekend, Bryson DeChambeau became a two-time major champion after he defeated Rory McIlroy in the U.S. Open championship, which became an instant classic.
One of the first people to congratulate him was his old rival, Brooks Koepka.
Koepka congratulated DeChambeau on winning the 2024 U.S. Open and joining the list of those who have won the tournament title more than once.
DeChambeau won the tournament back in 2021, while Koepka won it in back-to-back years in 2017 and 2018.

What Initially Started The Feud Between Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau?
When it comes to sports, there are feuds that are bound to happen when it comes to athletes trying to accomplish goals and proving they’re better than others.
In 2019, the golfing world got its next biggest rivalry when Brooks Koepka did not mince words when commenting on golfers taking their time during the Dubai Desert Classic. At the time, he did not mention DeChambeau.
“I just don’t understand how it takes a minute and 20 seconds, a minute and 15 to hit a golf ball; it’s not that hard,” stated Koepka at the time, according to ESPN. “It’s always between two clubs. There’s a miss short, there’s a miss long. It really drives me nuts especially when it’s a long hitter because you know you’ve got two other guys or at least one guy that’s hitting before you, so you can do all your calculations, you should have your numbers.”
Later that year, DeChambeau reportedly confronted Koepka’s caddie and stated that if Koepka had a problem with him, he needed to say it face to face.
DeChambeau was feeling the backlash on social media due to Koepka’s comments.
“It’s not just him,” said Koepka. “I know he feels singled out, especially when I’m speaking about it. But it’s like I told him, I’ve mentioned his name once, and that’s it. There’s so many guys out here where it’s become an issue, and obviously him being probably the best player that’s relatively slow right now, he’s going to be on TV a lot more, so you’re going to catch a lot more of those type of instances.”
In 2021, things got worse when fans began chanting “Brooksy” at DeChambeau.
Koepka partnered with Michelob Ultra to give free beer to any fan that was removed from the tournament, which encouraged others to chant that name.
The nickname lingered around DeChambeau for some time.
Following the incident, the PGA Tour intervened and issued a decree that any fan heckling DeChambeau with “Brooksy” mentions would be kicked out of an event.
