Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America. But maybe we should shrink the game a little if we have people kicking each other in the goddamn face over a loss. @stoolpickleball pic.twitter.com/xAuJSsrrTe

Some users wondered how the player’s partner didn’t stick up for him.
“If I’m that guy’s partner that gets kicked in the head I’m breaking my paddle over that f**ks head,” someone claimed.
“How his teammate didn’t steamroll him is wild to me,” another wrote.

Others felt like he had it coming.
“can’t knock a paddle out of a guys hand while screaming f**k yeah and expect not to get kicked in the face,” someone commented.
“he slapped the paddle out of that guys hand after screaming like he dunked on Shaq. dude should have followed up with a fast left and right while he was hanging on the net,” another added.
Victim From Wild Pickleball Game Has Offered An Update On His Condition
The victim of the kick, who has since been identified as Peter Shonk, sent the video to a pickleball account on X, telling them he was ok.
“This video is absolutely insane,” the account wrote.
“It occurred after championship point from a tournament this weekend and the man that was assaulted, Peter Shonk, shared this video with us to post and wants everyone to know that he is ok.”

Peter didn’t get much sympathy there either.
“Dude knocked the guys paddle out of his hand. He FA and FO. All is fair when you are a total bag,” a user suggested.
“Man the kick was definitely over the line but punching or slapping the paddle out of his hand. Act professional,” one pointed out.
Of course, the reaction was definitely over the top. Kicking someone in the face because they knocked a paddle out of your hand doesn’t sound like an excuse a judge would find reasonable.
