Luigi Mangione might be the most famous man in America right now after what he allegedly did.
On Monday, social media was going crazy after news dropped that a person of interest in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was taken into custody in Pennsylvania.
Mangione, a Maryland native, was arrested when a McDonald’s worker at an Altoona, Pennsylvania franchise recognized him as he ate at the restaurant. He was found with a firearm and a suppressor like the one used to kill Thompson last Wednesday.
The 26-year-old gave officers a fake ID with the name Mark Rosario. Police ran it and figured out that he lied.
When asked why he lied, Luigi Mangione replied, “I clearly shouldn’t have,” according to court documents.
Footage has since surfaced of the UPenn graduate being led into the court building in handcuffs.
