The Luigi Mangione story has seen almost everything and added a new chapter with the strangest live interview ever seen.
Inmates locked up alongside Mangione had a live TV news report taking place outside their prison as they shouted about conditions inside the facility.
Prisoners at SCI Huntingdon in Pennsylvania, where the alleged killer is being housed for gunning down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, shouted about Mangione to NewsNation reporter Alex Caprariello as he reported from outside the prison wall.
“Luigi’s conditions suck!” one inmate could be heard yelling, along with: “Free Luigi!”

Alex Caprariello was reporting on Luigi Mangione’s conditions at the State Correctional Institution in Huntington, Pennsylvania, when one person inside yelled out, “Luigi’s conditions suck.”
Caprariello returned to the prison at 10 p.m. for Ashleigh Banfield as inmates answered questions Banfield posed from her studio desk.

Prisoners could be heard screaming “No” when asked if Luigi was given a television in his cell.
“This is the strangest interview I’ve ever conducted,” Banfield stated.
At one point, Banfield read the prison’s menu for the day and asked the prisoners if the food being served was actually good. They were met with a chorus of “terrible” and “B.S.”

Luigi Mangione Is Fighting Extradition Following Arrest
The man accused of killing United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson in midtown Manhattan is fighting extradition to New York.
Since being arrested on Monday, authorities have been building their case against Luigi Mangione.
Mangione, a 26-year-old Ivy League graduate, is accused of gunning down Brian Thompson, the UnitedHealthcare CEO, outside a Midtown Manhattan hotel on Dec. 4.
A judge in Pennsylvania ordered Mangione held without bail on Tuesday.
He plans to challenge his extradition to New York, where he faces charges including second-degree murder.
