The “Hawk Tuah” Girl, Haliey Welch, has composed a bit of an educational song for her grandmother breaking down what her viral phrase means.
Life has changed drastically for the 21-year-old since that famous interview, and it appears things might be moving a little too fast for Grandma.
As a result, Haliey’s teamed up with singer and songwriter Jacqueline Cole Miskanic Gregg, A.K.A Jax, to compose a track explaining the “Hawk Tuah” to the woman who raised her.
“This is Haliey and she went to The University of Northern Alabama but she had to drop out to pay the bills and take care of my grandma,” Jax begins while playing the keyboard.
“And she then she went viral, so she made some cash but Granny keeps asking her what Hawk Tuah means… So we wrote this song for Haliey’s grandma.”
“To explain myself to the elderly,” Haliey chimes in.
Of course, we all know what the phrase means now. But it has taken on some Safe For Work meanings lately.

“Hawk Tuah means being selfless. Hawk Tuah means you care. Hawk Tuah is another word for hard work like rollin’ up your sleeves and tying back your hair,” it continues.
“Hawk Tuah means love and affection. Hawk Tuah means we in a recession, Grandma. Stop asking so many questions.”
