Darts player James Wade tried debunking a video showing him ripping a loud fart after his Players Championship match earlier this week with a ridiculous excuse.
Wade played Callan Rydz in the competition’s quarter-final in Leicester on Tuesday, winning 6-5. He appeared to break wind after approaching a table, seemingly unaware he was in front of a camera, though he may have done so well in the knowledge that he was being recorded.
A clip of the surprising fart has gone viral, with social media making all sorts of jokes at his expense and recommending the nickname “Windy Wade.”
The darts star has joked that he will sue.
Wade also took to X/Twitter to share a GIF of the ‘Little Britain’ character Sir Norman Fry and a sarcastic explanation of what happened.
“I feel I must address a situation following my run to the semi-finals of PC22 today,” he wrote.

“Footage has emerged of me doing what appears to be a ‘shart’ at the end of one of my matches. It was actually the velcro on my new trainers. I now consider this matter put to bed as don’t wish to talk about it again.”
Yeah… no one’s buying that, especially not after watching him bend his legs to facilitate the smelly release.
James Wade Is One To Avoid In A Game of Darts
The James Wade combination was pretty fruitful for the Miami Heat in the early 2010s, but this version of James Wade is one folks might want to steer clear of.
In any case, he was eliminated from the competition, losing 7-4 to Gary Anderson in the semis.
As it turns out, Anderson has also been accused of farting during a game. He is said to have dropped a silent stinker while playing Wesley Harms at the Grand Slam back in 2018.
He never owned up to it.
Darts and farts rhyme for a reason, it appears.
