Luigi Mangione, the 26-year-old suspect accused of shooting the CEO of UnitedHealthcare Brian Thompson, is getting what he needs while in jail.
Mangione got a haircut in prison before his second Pennslyvania court appearance on December 19.
He received a taper-fade haircut and threaded eyebrows, which could be a “jailhouse message,” according to Touré Neblett on TikTok.
In a recent TikTok post, Touré Neblett, who is a writer, critic, and podcaster, stated Luigi Mangione’s grooming could indicate the charismatic accused killer was “cared for” by other inmates.
“He is respected, and he is protected within that inmate class,” Neblett says.
“He can’t just go anywhere and get a haircut,” Neblett adds.

Neblett further announced that an inmate in charge of the “haircut situation” wanted to ensure he looked good and signal to the authorities, “We care about Luigi inside.”
Neblett wasn’t the only person thinking that Luigi Mangione’s haircut had a deeper meaning.
TikToker Kissing Whiskey Vintage revealed that her parents are felons to make her point about his hairdo.
“Luigi’s taper fade is a signal to the correctional officers not to beat him up,” Kissing Whiskey Vintage says in her post. “It’s a signal to the correctional officers that other inmates care about him and have his back,” she adds.
Press Secretary Maria A. Bivens confirmed to Newsweek that the 26-year-old received a haircut last Wednesday at the barbershop inside the State Correctional Institution at Huntingdon, Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.
Luigi Mangione Pleads Not Guilty
Luigi Mangione pleaded not guilty to New York state charges in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Mangione faces 11 state charges, including first-degree murder in furtherance of terrorism.
Prosecutors allege Mangione was found in possession of what is believed to be the murder weapon.
He will remain in custody and is being held in federal custody without bail and has no realistic chance of freedom until trial.
