Teddy Hart was arrested in Florida Friday on two felony drug possession charges, according to multiple reports.
Hart, whose real name is Edward Annis, was arrested in Titusville, and police said he was in possession of MDMA ecstasy and a controlled substance without a prescription.
TMZ Sports reported Titusville Police Department pulled over Hart at around midnight after he was allegedly speeding and ran a red light while driving a rental car. The officers could smell and observe marijuana in the wrestler’s car. The officers searched the car and allegedly found pills and powder.
The police also found vials for two anabolic steroids inside a bag in the car. The 43-year-old was reportedly taken into custody and released Saturday. He was also issued a civil traffic citation for allegedly failing to maintain a stop at a red signal.
If you couldn’t tell by his last name, Annis is from the famed Hart wrestling family. He is the nephew of Bret and Owen Hart, and the grandson of Stu Hart.
Annis was the youngest wrestler to sign a WWE developmental contract when he joined Dory Funk Jr.’s training facility in 1998. He did not last long as he was released shortly after. He would re-sign with WWE in 2005 but got released again in 2006 after a few matches.
