Fake, AI-generated photos of a flooded Disney World had fans on social media freaking out after Hurricane Milton made its way through Florida this week.
Disney World was in the system’s path and did get hit, but hardly the way it’s being shown online.
The aforementioned Category 3 storm made landfall on Wednesday, compounding damage first wrought by Hurricane Helene as it flooded places like Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota. While Orlando experienced inclement weather, it wasn’t as bad as in other areas, and Disney World is certainly not in the condition the photos suggest.

Folks On Social Media Were Totally Fooled
Some social media users were initially duped.
“Just Like Q Warned Us,” someone commented.
“White hats working circles around these satanist! We are taking the evil trash out!” another added.
“Good 👍 God Wins ✨🙏🏻✨🇺🇸✨🙏🏻✨,” said a third.
“Great a new river cruise! ‘ Huckleberry Finn tour’ 😱😱,” another suggested.
“While the theme parks closed for the hurricane, these images are AI art designed to sensationalize or in this case completely make up the events. There are no reports of any flooding of Disney,” the Community Note posted below one of the tweets read.
Others called out the accounts for posting fake photos.
Meanwhile, Disney World has shut operations down because of Hurricane Milton, but as mentioned above, the images shown here do not accurately reflect what the park looks like right now.
“Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld will all close their theme parks and respective entertainment facilities on Wednesday, with the latter two also closed on Thursday and Disney likely to remain closed,” TampaBay.com reported. “Universal also canceled Halloween Horror Nights scheduled for both days.”
