Social media is teeing off on a former ESPN personality for endorsing a ridiculous conspiracy theory on the assassination attempt of former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Nine days ago, Donald Trump survived a horrific assassination attempt by a man later identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. Trump was shot in the right ear during his rally at the Butler Farm Show Grounds near Butler, Pennsylvania.
Trump survived the attempt and was quickly aided by Secret Service agents, who rushed to the stage to shield him. Secret Service agents killed Crooks, who was positioned on a nearby building roof.
Texas Rep. Ronny Jackson previously served as Trump’s White House physician. Per the Associated Press, Trump’s team released a memo from Dr. Jackon that claims the gunshot in Trump’s ear came “less than a quarter of an inch from entering his head, and struck the top of his right ear.”
The memo also read, “In summary, former President Trump is doing well, and he is recovering as expected from the gunshot wound sustained last Saturday afternoon.”
Former ESPN Keith Olbermann, a well-known critic of Donald Trump, disputed Jackson’s analysis of Trump’s injury in a series of posts on “X.” More specifically, Olbermann alleges that the 45th president wasn’t actually hit by a bullet:

Donald Trump Accepted GOP Nomination Last Week
For the third straight election, Donald Trump won the Republican nomination without any legitimate competition. He was initially scheduled to run against Joe Biden in a presidential rematch, but the incumbent announced on Sunday that he is withdrawing from the race.
Biden himself endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party nominee. With the election less than four months away, the party will announce its nominee very soon.
If Trump wins, he’ll become just the second president to serve two non-consecutive terms, along with Grover Cleveland.
