A runaway bull in Northern California injured several people after it suddenly jumped into the crowd and made its escape during a popular rodeo event.
Video from the Redding Rodeo shows the bull bucking its rider to the ground and then jumping the fence. It happened during the final section of the bull riding event Friday night.
Police told local media that the five people hurt suffered minor injuries, with one person being taken to the hospital. Action News Now said four of them were “medically cleared and left before law enforcement arrived. One victim, a teen, received minor injuries.”
A 15-year-old said the bull’s horns clipped his leg.
“Getting hit by a bull was an experience,” Greco said. “To be honest I didn’t feel it at the time because my adrenaline was pumping and I had to make split-second decisions.”
The bull was captured by rodeo livestock professionals almost half a mile away at the Sundial Bridge, but not before injuring another woman who was walking near the bridge. She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
