Social media detectives noticed something odd about one of the officers escorting Luigi Mangione during his extradition on Thursday.
Mangione, who stands accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson earlier this month, returned to New York for a federal hearing on the day.
He arrived in court with his feet shackled but his hands-free.

While the suspect has received widespread coverage, it was one of the officers standing next to him who went viral on social media after folks noticed the shoes he had on.

“NYPD officer escorting Luigi Mangione really looked at himself in the mirror this morning like “I gotta do it to em” and pulled up to the perp walk in Off-White Air Jordan 5s,” another user observed.

Luigi Mangione Could Face The Death Penalty
Mangione’s hearing lasted around 15 minutes, with a judge reading out the four federal charges against him. Chief among those was m-rder through a firearm, which could see him handed the death penalty.
He will remain behind bars for now, with his lawyers delaying a bail application.
